BMW has now revealed the pricing and model details for its ActiveHybrid 3 that was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show. The car, which combines a turbocharged inline-six gasoline engine with an electric motor, will start at £40,225 (about $62,700 when you go for the straight conversion) on the road in the U.K., with shipments starting in July.

The car will be available in three major trim levels, including SE, Modern, Luxury, and M Sport, AutoCar reported. The 55-horsepower electric motor and gas 3.0-liter engine combine for a power output of 340 horsepower and 332lb-ft. Performance from 0 to 62mph is claimed to be 5.3 seconds. Its European emissions of 139g/km is 10g/km better than BMW's identically-powered ActiveHybrid 5.

The 3-series hybrid is said to be capable of driving up to 2.4 miles on electric power alone under ideal conditions. It is said to return 39.3mpg on Europe's combined fuel economy cycle.

The M Sport package adds £3,000 (about $4,680) to the price of the base SE and includes 18-inch M-Star alloy wheels, M Sport suspension, and unique body style pieces and interior trim.

U.S. prices for the ActiveHybrid 3 haven't yet been revealed, nor are the ship dates.
