Get over it Apex. This might have been a really big safety issue, except that the warning system worked. If you note the article it says that the “airbag off” warning light will come on if the detection mat fails.

So in your example the driver will have seen a bright red light in the centre of the dash to tell him that the airbag is not working. Then the heartless f*ck will have ignored it and let his wife/girlfriend/friend/child get in the car and then driven recklessly enough to “spin all over the road”.

This recall isn’t even necessary: light comes on, you visit the dealer and they fix it. Now the dealer is going to call you and fix a part that might not ever fail. What is your problem with that?

This is no worse than some of the other recalls some other companies had – gas pedal getting stuck isn’t as bad? Yeah right…..

I love German Cars especially the Audi and BMWs. Even though BMW is going through this recall I still love their cars. I just wish they were better on fuel efficiency.

^^^^ Exactly the point I was trying to make above peacemf. I guess most people don’t make the connection that airbag failure is a much bigger problem than a faulty o2 sensor or other things of that nature. I mean c’mon guys lets pretend you are driving down the freeway in your shiny BMW with your wife/girlfriend/friend/child in the passenger seat. Imagine you get in an accident and you spin all over the road and whatnot and finally come to rest somewhere. Now picture looking in front of you at your deployed airbag and thinking “wow that probably saved my life!” Lastly imagine looking over at your companion in the front seat and seeing their lifeless corpse draped over the airbag-less dashboard in front of them with their mouth ****ed open and blood flowing out of who knows which orifices. It is gruesome but that is exactly what would happen and I know from personal experience as I am sure some of the people here do that airbags are not only neccessary and save lives but it is important that they work above all other functions of the car because no matter what happens you need it to save your life.

Every manufactor have to go to this so called Recall. So can we stop trash talking about BMW. Here is the question can anyone point out which of the Auto company never have the Recall before?????. Ferrari and Bentley got their recall couple months ago….

This ones for every BMW humper out there. I know almost all the other companies have had recalls and the worst was probably Toyota I think with the accelerator getting stuck on the all-weather mats. But this is big and anyone who doesn’t think so needs brain surgery lol. I mean recalls for faulty sensors and crap like that happen and they can eventually lead to a problem in some situations but for an airbag not to deploy is something much greater. Anyone who thinks they are better off in a collision without airbags should stick to BMW *a very sarcastic thumbs up*.
