BMW's SUV aren't exactly known for their off-road prowess - reflected by the automaker's Sports Activity Vehicle branding - but a driver in Chicago proved earlier this week than an X5 can be capable of monster truck-like feats.

At about 11:15 a.m. On Thursday morning a driver was returning a rented X5 to a parking garage in Chicago. The man began to turn into a parking spot to return the vehicle but accidentally hit the gas instead of the brakes, turning the X5 into Big Foot.

The SUV broke through a few wires and then went airborne before coming to a rest on top of a Jaguar and Mercedes.

Luckily no one was hurt in the incident, but eye witness Vicky Baftiri reveals that things could have been much worse.

"I was pulling out from my parking spot," Baftiri told MSNBC. "If those cars weren't there he would've hit me."

No word if the driver sprung for the rental company's full insurance coverage policy.
