BMW has apparently caught diesel fever, or at least that is what many are predicting based on leaked info regarding a 381 horsepower, 515 lb-ft of torque, triple-turbocharged all-wheel drive M550d, and now a new video that may show the same powertrain under the hood of the X6.

The latest diesel-related news coming from the folks at BMW arrived on their official Youtube channel in the form of a partially-blurred out video that shows some type of X6 speeding up and down the road – causing us to believe it very well could be the BMW X6 M50d.

(More after video)

BMW already offers the X6 in many flavors, including the X6 M, Active Hybrid X6, X6 xDrive35i and X6 xDrive50i in the U.S. – along with the X6 40d diesel in Europe. But as of today, no diesel-powered M variant exists for the X6, something that will likely change if the video is teasing what we think it is.

Given the recent revelations of the all-wheel drive 5-Series M variant – which is expected to have a 3.0-liter, triple-turbocharged (one being electric) straight-six and all-wheel drive, adding the same powertrain to the X6 seems like a logical choice. Well, as logical as the X6 can justified to be, at least.
