STFU jonmiles.

This is a great car. Im not a fan of BMW but I like this very much.

In EU it will probably cost from 60,000EUR to 100,000 for the top model.

52k USD is very cheap for car like this.

How many of these f*cking things do they need in their lineup? I guess they know their customer base, but if I had 60k and was BMW shopping this would not be it.

Well, I’m in this demographic and I do not like this vehicle. I know that it was designed around aerodynamics, but it looks cheap, weird, and awkward.

@jonmiles, the series before Bangle were the best and their styling still rings true. The edgy Bangle led styling is simply edgy with a few winners as they start to further refine the styling. As far as styling this is not one of the winners, and I doubt it will grow on people. Probably those who think they have a status symbol will purchase said vehicle, but I will be one of those other people laughing at them at the stoplight.

Bet it will be the best-handling SUV you can buy.
Looks better in Black with Dubs.
Like the Soft-close doors option.

This is a WAGON! It doesn’t even sit up high, how can this be an SUV? I’d buy the Infiniti EX before this and save 18k! And yes, the Enclave wins this one. Like the 1-series, BMW thinks they can overprice their cars and people will still buy them. Maybe they can, only time will tell.

So let me get this straight: $63k and you have to pay extra for leather as an option?!? WTF is that?

I just don’t see the point of this vehicle at any cost.

For the money, I would rather have an M3.

Like F451 stated, I am also within the target market of this vehicle. It may lack the “Utility” features, but i may consider trading in the Cayenne for this. You guys dont realise. There is still an X5 out there, if you think this is unneccessary. Get an X5. Also, one might not purchase this vehicle as a status symbol, it’s unique. People love to have the newest most interesting things. I’m sure its pretty sharp in person also.

It’s more or less a slightly upscale and um, probably better vehicle than the Infiniti FX45. Plus, it’s a BMW, there’ll certainally be a market for it.

It’s not extremely overpriced, but what is overpriced are all those options that on most other cars come standard. Even more alarming is some of the prices for those upgrades.

it is insane price. Why would anyone spend 50+K on a vehicle when better one (X3) can be had for less? Where is differentiation? X3 can be had with the same mill, tranny and it looks way better then this mistake of a hatchback ( I love hatchbacks!). I just don’t get it.

I do understand some people’s sentiments over the outrageously priced options of all Bimmers. The 52.5K base price would jump up by 10K if the vehicle is almost fully loaded. The only real utility I see for this vehicle is if you live somewhere where there are a lot of potholes and shallow floods. Most likely a tropical country. Besides that if you live in the city, the only reason for buying is for its good looks and bragging right.

I think it’s great for those living in an urban environment, esp NYC. It’s like having an elevated 5 series, so you don’t need to worry about potholes and have improved visibility. On top of that, with the TT V8, you can outrace any frustrated cabbie. It’s the perfect car for anyone who wants to navigate the city quickly (and cut off heaps of people in the process). I think there will be more and more cars like this out there in the future.
