Z2 is much better looking than Z4. If it weighs below 2700lb and has more than 170 HP, I am buying one. How much will the M version cost?? $40K?

Z4+botox=Z2?..nice! Though i think they'll actually call it a Z5(bye-bye Z4!)..at 2800 pounds they're back to what my '97 2.8 Z3 weighs and if the real thing is close to the pic, they'll have captured some of the original Z3 charisma as well. Way to go BMW! Cheers! dk'97 2.8 bg R

The guy who said the Z4 is already too small -- give that man a dollar.

I still have a cramp from driving the Z4 Coupe last week. Beautiful car though.

#11: It has new-TT-ish headlamps. They're separated out but the groove they're located in is pretty much the same shape as on the new TT or possibly one of the earlier R8/RSQ concepts.

WOW! I like it! I like the fact that they didn't veer too far from the Z4 styling (which I've always loved, even though the majority of people hate it). IMO BMW should go with this front-end design for all of their cars, very aggressive looking.

same size, a lot more $.

so this will compete with the sky/solstice/mx5 and any other rwd 20-30k 4cyl 2 seat roadsters coming down the pipe.

It's getting pretty crowded in that limied-funcionality/practicality market...

I keep waiting for like a MLS or GLS with a funky 4 door coupe jacked up on a AWD drive line.

When BMW is even following Mercedes into the dismal R-class segment, something is VERY VERY wrong.

you know that is the product of some CEO's wife saying:
"build this car or I am taking the kids and all your money and getting a divorce! I am NOT going to be seen in a minivan, and I have wrecked too many SUV's. Give me the luxury I deserve but DO NOT call it a minivan!!!!"

It's not bad. Better than Miata, but not as clean as a Solstice or Sky. AT LEAST it doesn't have that damn line behind the front wheel a la Z4! Just about the only reason I wouldn't buy one of those.

since the market NEEDS another 2 seat roadster in the sub 40k segment.... :shakinghead:

BMW, porsche, and Merc (I guess Audi too) need to realize their niche. They are trying to build a vehicle for every segment, which will dilute their status and eventually take them to the level of GM or toyota... the last thing they should do is try to saturate the market. At that point, one of the main reasons for buying one dissapears.
