Forget the illustration for a moment. This is a perfect example of the normally efficient and logical german car nomenclature gone horribly wrong.

Last i checked the 6 series was only available with a V8 (or V10 in the case of the M). This would be tacked on to the 6 series line up with the engines from the 3 series, which are inline 6s. The only way this makes any real sense is if the “Z6″ is only offered with the V8 from the upcoming M3. In which case it really is a replacement for the Z8. Interestingly enough, if you follow the 8 series formula, the Z8 should have had a V12, yet it only had a V8. Why do they even bother giving it a number if it doesn’t refer to anything? I propose they call it the Zπ, because the numbers are irrational anyway. Just stupid…

um, fellas, this is just an artists rendition. He probably has no connection with BMW whatsoever. More than likely, he’s a talented illustrator that went through transportation design school and may or may not be in the actual design industry. That said, it’s just his take on how he thinks it may look like. Heck, I could do that and throw it up here. It’s like all those AutoBild “captured” photochops that show up on here all the time. There really isn’t much basis for any of them. My point is that it is a waste of time discussing the size of the grill, chrome door handles, taillights, etc. because none of this is based on any sort of fact.

Agreed, kidney grilles are too small but overall it looks nice. Dare we say it looks very “Japan-ish/Acura-ish” with those headlights and tailights???

I aslo think that the door handle should be in chrome. and I am not sure if I like the door handle interferring with that line, I might like it if the door handle was dropped about 2-3 inches.

I think the grill is ok but does need some tinkering. I would extend the grill lower, but I don’t think I would make it wider. And change the rims

1993 3-series had basketweaves or bottle caps. “A4″ should stick to Audi.

It looks damn good. Unlike the Z8, which was a great car lacking cachet, it’s a car that would impress people and look like it costs real money.

The front looks like the concept Lexus that came out a few months ago. Also, the kidney grills are way too small. But, if they want to make it that small, why not just get rid of them altogether? I think it would make the car look nicer.

i dont like the kidney grilles.. they need to be bigger, and the wheels look like theyre off a 1993 3-series. Other than that i think it looks pretty sharp

The profile view looks great… That front needs a little work. At least it’s just an illustration. What makes the artist think that BMW is shrinking their grilles?

It’s ok, kinda like what people in the 90’s thought future cars should look like. I hope it won’t look like this.
