BMW teases iNext initial design concept

The vehicle will serve as a technology flagship when it enters production in 2021.

BMW has released the first teaser image for its iNext, starting with an initial design concept sketch.

The production-bound vehicle will serve as BMW's technological flagship, showcasing the company's most advanced autonomous technology and latest electric powertrains.

"The iNEXT project is our building kit for the future," says BMW CEO Harald Krüger. "It will benefit the entire company and all our brands."

The company previously hinted at a range of up to 435 miles, presumably based on the generous NEDC test cycle. The same powertrain will be used for the i4.

The iNext is scheduled to enter production at BMW's Dingolfing factory in 2021.
