Bob Lutz — Fighter Pilot

04/23/2006, 11:48 PM

GM has made a point of making sure the public knows its Saab brand is proudly ‘born from jets.’ Not to be left out, GM vice chairman Bob Lutz wants to highlight his aviation background, too. Mr. Lutz reportedly printed up a set of business cards that show him standing next to a fighter jet, flight helmet in hand. The cards simply read “Bob Lutz — Fighter Pilot.” The former Marine owns two fighter jets and a MD-500 helicopter, which he sometimes flies to work, according to the New York Times.

I wonder if one of his planes is an OPEL? Lutz the Putz … This blowhard geezer thinks it’s all about HIM.

Who the F__ cares if SAAB came from jets?! If that meant anything; Oldsmobile would be getting design assistance from Boeing… Oooops?! Did I say Oldsmobile..

Do SAAB jets have a Worldwide market? Are their planes in demand anywhere? Nope. Planes never made money and neither have their cars – no matter who owns them.

I did think the 2-stroke, 3-cyl, freewheeling, little sedans were pretty cool tho’.

I wonder what Bob’s reaction would be if he has exploding intake manifold in flight? Maybe he could blame it on a media conspiracy against airplanes?

At least Bob doesn’t have to deal with the clueless service dept. when his jet breaks down for the umpteenth time.

Not cool. That looks like his home address and phone number. You should have obscured them. It wouldn’t have hurt your “news” story.
