BorgWarner has announced that it will supply two turbo systems for International’s 6.4-liter V-8 PowerStroke diesel engine. The system’s — which will be built in BorgWarner’s Asheville, North Carolina plant — will be used in Ford ’s F-series heavy-duty pickup trucks.
According to Automotive News, the 6.4L powerplant will use BorgWarner’s regulated two-stage turbocharger combined with variable turbine geometry. The new system is said to both increase power and reduce emissions.

A strike at International Engine Corp. late last year slowed the production of F-series trucks at Ford ’s Louisville, Kentucky plant.
