Arrogant American drivers tend to think defacing mother nature with massive concrete and steel structures is the only way to cross a river. In Soviet Russia, there is a much less expensive and more environmentally conscious way to traverse a body of water. In this astounding piece of foreign filmmaking, we’re shown how it’s really done.

Just think, the $30 billion in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 earmarked for roads and bridges could have been redirect to more pressing projects that had to be cut from the list, such as buying freezers for fish sperm, renovating swimming pools, steam cleaning bird droppings, and repairing fast food restaurants.

Just remember: don’t try this at home — you might inadvertently drown yourself. You’ve been warned.
