yeah……i’m lost on the whole 8 ponder thing…….I’m assuming he meant “pound”. I’ve worked in Car Sales and in the car industry for a while but haven’t heard that expression before.

I remember a British sales man I worked with, he had years working for Ford over in the U.K.. He came state side because his daughter got a job in the Embassy, so why not. The guy was good, but it took him a week or so to get in the rhythm of things, well anyways I made a 8 PONDER deal on a new Ford Thunderbird, he did not under stand what the big deal was. He came up to me and told me; “Hay mate, that is absolute rubbish!”, “that’s a bloody good deal, and all they are going to give you is 8 pounds?”, “Are they MAD?”… LOL once I told him, then he under stood.

And for anyone wondering what a “ponder” is in car lingo, go work sells at a car dealer, you gotta find out the hard way… Or rent the movie “Suckers”… but you may still be even more lost after watching it…
