Taking outrageous to the extreme, Bugatti and Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin have teamed up to produce the world's first - and likely last -- vehicle using porcelain elements for exterior and interior design.

Based on the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport, the porcelain-clad vehicle is known as the "L'Or Blanc". Bugatti gave no real explanation for the creation, other than Bugatti is best-known for the outrageous.

"At first, it seems to be an unusual idea to use porcelain in a car, especially in the world's fastest convertible," said Dr. Stefan Brungs, Director of Sales and Marketing at Bugatti Automobiles. "But this is what Bugatti stands for: the realization of exceptional ideas whilst striving for the utmost in quality and aesthetics. This allows us to continue Ettore Bugatti's heritage, who himself loved to experiment with new materials."

Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur notes that the L'Or Blanc is not only the world's fastest convertible, but also the world's fastest porcelain.

The price for this one-off creation? A mere $2.39 million.
