I think Bugatti would be foolish to redo the Veyron. It’s been a while since the Veyron hit production and they’ve already come out with special editions like the Pur Sang and I think others. Plus, there’s not a profitable market at the $1M+ price range.

No, there’s been time for Bugatti to think ahead and start getting a return on its investment. A sedan with Veyron styling cues should fit the bill. How cool would it be for Bugatti’s trademark to be the maker of 1000 hp cars? Still, I don’t see its follow up car having 1000 hp. Getting 1000 hp took quad turbos, radiators aplenty and exposing the engine to the outside world. None of things are as cool on a sedan, I’ll bet.

Nevertheless, Bugatti could be at the pinnacle of the super luxo sedan market with a Veyron-esque interior and exterior, and a naturally aspirated W16 engine. That should be plenty to make the billiionaires of the world hold off on their Rapide and Panamera deposits….

I never said they were still engineered by them, but they are still BUILT by them.
Just like this article says that Bugatti’s are still French.

A4, You think the Bentleys are still engineered by limeys? Don’t think so. There’s no way they’d have this reputation you mention if they did. Brits can no longer build cars, their best automotive talent is analyzing them. Betcha there’s more than a little ‘craut under the Bentley bonnet.

and yeah explain to me how VW has ruined ANY of their brands? Audi is stronger than ever, Lamborghini finally has some dose of practicality and reliability (compared to cars like the Countach and Diablo), and still holds all of its wild side; Bentley’s also shaken its British reliability issues and still manages to be the best example of British engineering in the high luxury segment – leagues ahead of Rolls Royce, Bugatti… Veyron… cmon. Skoda/Seat are both at their peaks as well. I’m not sure where they ruined anything.

For that kind of money you could buy a decent Cessna Citation that’ll do over 400 mph anywhere you want without fear of the local authorities frowning upon your actions. Then again if you can afford the Bugatti you waved bye bye to the Citation long ago and are probably reading this on your BBJ right now.
