Bugatti originally set out to sell 300 examples of its Veyron supercar, but is quickly finding out just how lofty of a goal that really is. Bugatti’s answer for more Veyron sales? More variants. The German-owned automaker has already released Pur Sang, Fbg par HermĆØs and Grand Sport versions of the car, with at least one more iteration on the way.
According to Car Magazine, Bugatti is readying a limited edition of the open-topped Grand Sport, dubbed the Sang Noir roadster. The Sang Noir – which is French for ā€˜black blood’ – is essentially an unpainted version of the Veyron Grand Sport, which exposes the car’s carbon fiber body.

Like the regular edition of the Grand Sport, look for the Sang Noir’s top speed to cross the 250 mph mark with its roof attached, with the open top configuration limiting speed to 217 mph.

No official word on pricing, but a price tag north of $2 million is likely. Car says to expect the Sang Noir roadster to hit the market in April 2009.
