lamboz, you summed it ALL up pretty well.

1487_GM_SALES, if I am an ass then you are the hole. Are you drunk?

If you truly are a GM fan then you must realize the damage you are doing by spewing ignorant non-factual information. I am all for buying American products and supporting this country, but I’m not for telling unsubstantiated and wild claims in a misguided effort to win people over. Stick to the facts or you lose credibility. Your drive-by lies and exaggerations on this site aren’t needed by GM’s marketing division, their newest products speak for themselves. I’ll admit that you occasionally make a valid point, but then again, even a broken clock is correct twice a day.

How many seats?
Not bad, but I really would like to see cadillac have Dedicated models only.

Also, I think GM should bring back the LaSalle brand and use it for Hyperluxurious rigs, competing with Maybach and Bentley.

No Small Caddies! has the Cimmaron not taught anyone? Hell, I'd even say no small buicks

1487gmsales and tripleonefivesmom sure would make a nice couple.
1487gmsales is at least funny, but tripleonfivesmom is just stupid.
It is not any uglier then any other wagon on the road. They are all strange, but it just depends on one's taste's.
Tripleonefivesmom drives a 1995 model year car, a true auto enthusiast.

^ And you're an ass who doesn't look at the big picture. Why should GM put that much work into Cadillac over in the UK. Europeans already know Cadillac as the Standard of the World, they are just not buying them because they are told by the media that POS BMW's and Volkswagens are better. They're just sheep like the dumbass (Un)Americans who are traitors to this country by not supporting GM in the first place.

This car is hot. It is the idiots over in Europe who are missing out on these world class vehicles. If they don't buy them, f*ck them, we don't need them. Let those who are not driving GM vehicles be the laughing stock to their friends and families. Let them be the outcasts who are driving those POS Nazi and Japcrap rides that break down all the time. Maybe once they see a family member killed because they were driving an unsafe, unreliable vehicle that left them stranded in the middle of the road and they get hit by a moving car, they'll wake up and realize that they should have thought GENERAL MOTORS when they made such a dumbas purchase.

Seriously, GM is a domiinating force in the auto industry. People need to just get out of the way if you don't follow. If you don't accept GM then you are in the minority. Your loss.

This isn't the most attractive wagon. Certain angles look alright but the head-on shot (seen on other sites) looks like a hearst. This probably wouldn't be near the top of my list if I was shopping the segment. Like someone else wrote on here, this isn't the best way for Cadillac to try to establish itself overseas.

Blakkcarr - I know for sure that soon in the future (when their model cycles are up) the STS and DTS will BOTH be dropped and replaced with an all-new flagship for cadillac, hopefully Cadillac 16-inspired. The CTS will stay and compete with the 5 series, and a new model (probably the BLS) will be introduced below the CTS to compete with the 3 series.

Ugly as HELL.

The Sasb sportcombi is a runway model to this thing's quasimodo. Cadillac should stick to nothing smaller or stately than the CTS.

BTW, I drove a friend's CTS-V yesterday. It was utterly shockingly fast. A fucking monster. Great car, nice ride, and better interior than I thought.

I think this car compromises Cadillac's luxury position in Europe (which is totally lacking, contrary to what one person thinks in this forum). If Cadillac wants to compete with the German big boys (BMW and Mercedes), then this hideous, badge engineered, Epsilon based, front wheel drive joke needs to disappear from Cadillac's lineup.

At least we don't have to be bothered with this version of the BLS over here in the U.S. I hope Cadillac works hard to ensure that the next generation, Alpha based, rear wheel drive BLS is a worthy competitor to the 3 Series, C Class, IS, and G35. If Cadillac can build effective, upscale, rear wheel drive competitors, then it might be able to reestablish its position as the "Standard Of The World" once more. I think the 2008 CTS is a major leap in the right direction.

That blocky D-pillar makes the rear end look like a hearse. I also don't find the design a very successful one. It's not bad at all, but I can see why it's not selling well. If they want to overcome the European notion that American cars are junky floaty boats, they need a car with a high WOW factor. This isn't it.

What an ugly vehicle. I would be ashamed to be seen in one. Even in Europe. I'd much rather have a German car. Some things just shouldn't be legal. And a Cadillac wagon is one of them.

The BLS, at least in it's current Epsilon form, is not coming to the states, so I'm not overly interested.

With GM pushing to move and mold CADILLAC is the shape of their European competitors, the line up would look like this:

BLS (Alpha platform version) vs BMW 3-series, Mercedes C-class
CTS (needs some upgrading) vs BMW 5-series, Mercedes E-class
STS (needs some upgrading) vs BMW 7-series, Mercedes S-class
DTS (may be dropped) No size competitor within price range(+/- $20K) from BMW or Mercedes

Escalade (doesn't have any real size competitors for BMW or Mercedes)
Nothing offered that is smaller.

It's good that they are not gonna sell the wagon in the US, but they still plan on selling the sedan so they can have a BLS-CTS-DTS scheme in the use to compete with the 3-5-7 series and C-E-S classes respectively. I think the CTS should stay as a entry car, 3 series competitor, STS as a 5 series competitior and DTS (after an EXTREME redesign) compete with the 7 series. The BLS can come here as a 1 series competitor but it also needs a redesign. Right now, it doesn't deserve a place next to the CTS in the Caddy lineup

They're making a point of the car's "American lines" (lots of angles, blocky, sort of aggressive) to differentiate it from the smooth/rounded Euro competition in this segment, but I agree it's an unsuccessful slice of the Caddy design language.

GM_SALES is completely insane, BTW -- Cadillac awareness barely registers in the UK.

BLS is short of a T. Or that's my opinion on its looks.

Two-stage? Perhaps that's the recently announced Bosch twin-turbo system.

I agree. I think this is very ugly. From the design to it's name, I'm not fond of the BLS in any way. "Cadillac has no current plans to sell the BLS Wagon in U.S. market" was the best thing I read in the article.

I'm sorry, but that's pretty ugly. If this is the kind of small car that Cadillac wants to have here...then just don't have a small car

GM salesman of the year - I hate to burst your bubble. Vauxhall - the GM subsidiary in UK is not dominating anything and neither does SAAB. They are way behind Fords. Furthermore in luxury market in UK is a fair game for everybody, perhaps Germans ahead of the rest.
I will not be surprised to see Japs will be outselling everyone else in UK fairly soon, since their cost of development and production are 0: they drive on wrong side of the road as well.
I certainly hope the public in Europe likes those Caddys, but only time will tell.

Cadillac and GM continue to be a dominating force in the UK. Good news. Pretty soon, Germany will have to pull out of the market as their sales won't warrant their existence there.
