Spied Again: 2010 Cadillac BRX interior and exterior

A new set of spy photos shows the interior of Cadillac's forthcoming 2010 BRX crossover. The images follow a single interior shot from last week — confirmation that the BRX's interior will look as similar as its exterior to the Provoq concept car.

The front fascia of the Provoq concept has been shown in two versions — one in which the front intakes are almost completely closed off, and another, more feasible design that utilizes a more familiar, deep-set egg-crate grille mesh. The grille on this prototype is a bit less dramatic, however, with a grille treatment that has more in common with Cadillac's tamer STS than it does with the more adventurous CTS.

Riding on GM's new TE (Theta-Epsilon) chassis, this new, smaller Caddy CUV will start production in May of 2009 at the Ramos Arizpe plant. The General will look to build about 75,000 units annually.

The prototype is heavily disguised, but its overall dimensions and stance can be inferred. The BRX's final design is derived from the recent Provoq concept.

Codenamed GMT166, Cadillac will share the TE platform with Saab for the 9-4x CUV (GMT168) that starts production in the fall of 2009.

Powertrain choices will surely include the 300hp, direct-injection 3.6L V6 found in the CTS. A 2.0L turbo-diesel variant is also in the works, however, it remains to be seen whether that model will be sold in the U.S.

Through the camouflage on this BRX prototype, we can see the production grill will follow the Provoq concept almost exactly, while the rear camouflage attempts to hide the true roof line — but we can tell the production greenhouse will swoop downward in the rear just as it does on the Provoq. Quite honestly, we don't see many differences from the concept at all. It seems as if the tail fin tail lights of the concept may even find their way to production.

One thing we did not see on the concept — that we do see on the prototype — are the dual exhaust outlets integrated into the bumper. While shooting, spies noticed that the BRX will feature the same pop-up navigation screen found in the CTS sedan.

As reported earlier, Saab will also receive a version of the Caddy — dubbed the 9-4X — and a Buick-badged version of the BRX remains a possibility.

  1. Best Saturn Cadillac ever lol No seriously I like this and they (GM ) was smart o put the same interior as in the CTS in here. The next STS should have a similar interior just like BMW and Infiniti are doing

  2. Me want some BRX. I don't know which I like better, this or the CTS wagon (hate the D-pillar on the latter though). But I am really, really admiring the new Caddy CUV thinking.

  5. While I'm absolutely shocked/dumbfounded by such a positive comment… the fact remains, if we're going to make ignorant remarks like the best "Saturn Cadillac," then we need to start prefacing others as the best "Honda Acura," or the best "Toyota Lexus," or the best "VW Audi," so on and so forth….

  9. I said before that Caddy can sell a truck and this is nice They really should have re done the SRX I think they gave up too quick It needed to look more like an SUV instead of a wagon. Hopefully they will be smart enough to have a hybrid version out with it and not wait 3 years
