I’m from australia and i gotta tell you guys this piece of **** will never sell there. We prefer european built cars not plastic fantastic american crap. You guys can’t build a decent car to save yourselves. European’s cant stand your cars and refuse to buy them and so will we. I think we have a little better taste than you guys in cars and expect quality, european finishes…….not dashboards and door handles made of cardboard!!!

yeah ///m, im Aussie. This is good news although it has been all but certain for half a year now. Caddys are going to be sold in “GM Premium” branded dealerships along with Saab and Hummer.

lol that was a good one johnnycanuck. When I said Chinese spec I just meant that they have some features that our CTS doesn’t. Also it was complete with the owners manaul being in Chinese and some of the language in the car itself. message on the mirros, little details like that. But the big thing i was referring to were these LED or bar lights that outlined the entire door bay when you opened it. It just looked really cool.

GM stepped it up with the new CTS. I deffinately will give this a try when I’m back on the market. Never thought I’d say that.

I love how the only negative comment comes from LP640 so far. Not surprising there.

RicardoHead-yeah the CTS is going to China. I think in 08 it’s going there. They have Chinese spec CTS’s on GM’s Milford Proving grounds. They get some pretty cool things that we don’t, like LED lights that illuminate the door-sills. I think for the US all we get is just Lights that illuminate underneath the dashboard. I could be wrong, haven’t been in a new CTS.

Yeah as one Aussie said in the Holden/Pontiac G8 UTE/ST post, I think his name was Gumball? He said that the Australians love 4 door RWD cars. So this should be a big seller in the land down under

This is great news. It’s good to see that GM truly envisions Cadillac as a global brand. They will have a tough battle against the established BMW/Mercedes icon brands, but Cadillac should become a major competitive force if it continues to refine/redesign its products on a timely basis. I would love to see Cadillac reclaim its “Standard of the World” status.

GM should really plan on bringing the 2.9 diesel to the U.S. also.
