The only remaining front-wheel drive vehicle in the Cadillac lineup, the DTS serves as the luxury marque's -- and General Motors' -- largest sedan.

The DTS sedan is available in five package / trim levels: 1SA, 1SB, 1SC, 1SD and Performance. All five models come standard with all-speed traction control, 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, cruise control, leather seating and at least dual-zone front climate control. Standard wheels across the range are 17-inch aluminum rims until you get to the Performance trim, which bumps up their diameter by an inch. All trim levels -- except for Performance -- are powered by a 275 horsepower Northstar V8 hitched to a four-speed automatic.

The 1SB package adds StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with brake assist, an ultrasonic parking assist system, as well as GM's heated windshield washer fluid. Inside, the 8-speaker, MP3-capable sound system gets XM satellite radio capability, while the front seats get heating and cooling abilities. The two outboard rear seats are electrically heated along with the steering wheel.

The next step up, 1SC, includes tri-zone automatic climate control in place of the dual zone system, and adds a universal home remote, representing a $100 premium over the 1SB package.

The 1SD adds real walnut burl wood trim, rain-sensing windshield wipers, massaging lumbar in the front seats, power lumbar adjustments for the rear seat along with a power sunshade, and a heated leather steering wheel in place of the one in the 1SC package. The sound system is also replaced with one tuned by Bose.

Finally, the flagship Performance trim upgrades the 4.6 liter V8 by 17 horsepower to 292, a sport suspension, bigger wheels and tires, seats fore and aft that do everything a professional masseuse would minus the happy ending, and memory functions for the seats, mirrors and power steering wheel. An added safety item includes a Side Blind Zone Alert. The only victim here is the XM Satellite radio.

Standalone options include StabiliTrak on cars not so equipped, an electric sunroof, and a DVD-based navigation system with screen. On the top-line Performance trim, a near $7,000 option includes a more opulent interior.
