A slip by General Motors' OnStar division recently set the internet rumor mill abuzz about the possibility of rear-wheel drive sports sedan for the Chevrolet brand, but lost in the hubbub was a little tidbit about the Cadillac ELR.

As a refresher, the Cadillac ELR was first introduced to the world as the Cadillac Converj concept at the 2009 Detroit auto show. It was widely thought that the two-door Converj - which was largely based on the Chevy Volt - would immediately make production, but GM's financial woes forced the automaker to can the project.

However, GM announced in August 2011 that the stylish plug-in would indeed make production as the ELR. GM has been quiet about the project ever since, leaving us to wonder when the ELR might be ready for production.

But thanks to OnStar's slip up -- and a sharp eye by Automotive News -- we might finally have an answer.

In its catalog of 2014 model year vehicles OnStar listed the Cadillac ELR. That timing seems about right considering GM's original 2011 announcement and the fact that we've recently spotted prototypes for the ELR roaming the streets of Detroit. GM isn't shedding any light on the subject, so we'll just have to wait this one out.
