Earlier this week we brought you totally uncamouflaged photos of the refreshed Cadillac XLR. Now we have photos of the hot rod XLR-V model that has shed all of its coverings.
Changes to Cadillac's hard top convertible include a new lower fascia in front and back, the addition of fender vents and new fog lights. Sadly, the XLR-V doesn't appear to get the slick new exhaust tips that the regular XLR showed off on Monday.
Rumors of an upgraded interior persist, but so far we haven't gotten a good enough look inside to be sure.

nice car- but i was just looking at those gas prices in the 3rd pic, geeezzz…
same old shit from Caddy
According to that sign it is now almost cheaper to smoke Marlboros than to buy gas. A national health crisis looms.
Mayer Ray Nagen Do all of us a favor and drench yourself in gas and light up a cigarette
Better, but since the changes aren't significant, its not significantly better. Price it like the Corvette (or at least less than twice the price) and it might sell
gay
1115, you're just pissed because you fried your ass lighting your farts (aka fArccords) trying to be a man at Fatburger as seen in this video of you flamebroiling away:

What?????? Where in the hell is gas that low at? I wanna go there. Around here in San Jose, Cali it's around $3.90/gal for 87.
paid 3.29 yesterday
I can't help but think that the XLR is reaching its EOL with such small revisions made to this model when major revisions is what is called for.
The Cadillac styling just doesn't work for me on this car. I think the squared off styling works on narrower cars but it makes wider cars look like they were made from a cardboard box.
That fucking side vent looks like shit.
Those vestigial fins just don't cut it — bring back the Batmobile-sized fins.
If they are going to do a mesh grille, at least make it higher quality than the chicken wire I can get at Home Depot…and that VENT…good god, at least make it LOOK like it DOES something-fill in the recesses with black or something like that…as it sits it looks like they pasted on a huge bread knife, awful for what is otherwise a pretty cool looking (unique at least)vehicle. Also, why stay with the supercharged Northstar when you have better, cheaper, more powerful, more efficient V8's in the bin? Guess we'll have to wait for the C7 chassis to see better changes…
The grill looks like crap and the side piece in front of the door. The back of it looks awesome. I guess they designed the back end to look so good so 1115 would have something nice to look at while he's in his camry.
Ewwwwwwwwwww! it just looks clunky and ill conceived. The 2 piece roof is dire too.
Lukewarm doesn't even begin to describe this refresh.
Time for Cadillac to give up on that absurd "arts and sciences" design theme. Nobody wants a car that rudely angular.
What an absolute fucking disgrace… who signed off that styling? Only Americans would buy that shit..
The stying here doesn't quite fit with the design on the new CTS. This car looks like a 90's design where the new CTS, even with angular and bold design, looks new.
Why are gas prices even brought up with mention of this vehicle? Anyone who can comfortably afford any vehicle that runs north of $50-60K aren't going to be all that bothered by $3+ gallon of gas… With that said, IIRC - this V gets about 15/21mpg which isn't all that terrible considering it does make 443hp and 414lb-ft of torque.
I have never been a fan of the XLR. It just looked wrong.
Neither aggressive enough, nor classy enough (compared against the CTS which got a refresh to make love to), the XLR just looks ill-conceived.
A complete reskin along the lines of the new CTS with curves that make the car look warmer and somewhat alive would be well in order. Tacking on chrome bits is not going to cut it.
Maybe GM should really consider building the Cien. At least, it wouldn't have the stigma of being a "dressed up Corvette that can't run".
Nice, very nice.
still gay
Looks like XLR, I guess.
yeah, only americans will buy it !! as usual
I really liked the XLR… When it first came out. Now it just looks old and could really use a redesign. Is the Northstar S/C'd V8 being dumped for the LSA?
I liked the old one better…. the XLR needs a redesign and NOT a facelift.
That chrome vent thing on the side is soooooooooooo tacky
Caddy: I love what you have done lately but: this needs a true redesign. OK?
Everyone basicly summed up what I was thinking. They just kinda made the old design too busy. Take off bullshit side vents and the crappy plastic grill around the fog lights. The only thing this car needed until a complete redo was an interior.
Are the designers too lazy to put a bit of curves are some areas?! Might as well put on square wheels. Yes, a true redesign please.
