Automobile magazine has published an interesting analysis of Cadillac’s STS-V hotrod luxury sedan. The review is a mixed bag, with both praise and criticism of the STS. On one hand, the car offers a great deal of power an luxury for reasonable price. On the other hand, it still can’t compare to its slightly-more-expensive European competitors. “It doesn’t feel like all of its mechanical systems are in harmony,” writes Joe DeMatio. “It’s missing the fluidity that eludes so many GM products but which is usually present in the best performance cars from, you guessed it, Europe. And the Caddy’s steering is too quick off-center and simply doesn’t light up the lines of communication between the road and the driver.” When it comes to its exterior, “the maximum Caddy sedan suffers from its genesis as the anodyne STS, a car whose exterior and interior both leave us cold.”

Man, I really love what Caddi is doing with the styling. But how hard can it be for the guys at GM to go to a Merc or BMW dealership and learn how to make an interiour that doesn’t look like they got it from parts found at home despot.
