A Glendale police officer decided to go undercover in the form of an Easter bunny and attempt to entrap unlawful drivers earlier this week. The officer, while dressed as the Easter bunny, was using the crosswalk and would then ticket any drivers that failed to yield to him hopping walking across the street.
Although the officer’s clever disguise yielded a handful of failure to yield tickets, the officer also hopped his way into the hot seat with a city councilman, according to Fox News.
City Councilman John Drayman, upon finding out of the officer’s scheme, said that the plan was “breathtakingly dangerous,” and called it a poor use of the city’s resources.
After being grilled by the councilman, the Glendale police continued their crosswalk sting, this time wearing a T-shirt and shorts. Hilariously, a city spokesman actually said that the city is reevaluating the use of costumes for enforcement campaigns.
Good call, Glendale.
