Hey Mike, I DID read the article – I was amusing myself with attempt at humour (or as you spelled it somewhere else, “humer”). Evidently spelling “it” at a minimum these days too, compadre.

Many times I think people mod the cars without understand the big picture. Classic example of this is primer painted bumpers. “Oh you mean paint is expensive, damn I thought the $200 kit off eBay was enough.”

The same goes for mods. If your first mod is speed releated and not brakes or suspension, then you fit in this category. If you do 5 point harness without a roll cage or vise-versa then you fit in this category.

A civic isn’t equal to a porsche, I don’t care if it is as fast, cause odds are they didn’t spend the time to get everything else in balance, the least of which is the frame. Porsche can take a 100+mph hit can your civic?

All that being said, more laws isn’t the answer.

While I don’t believe in a ban, I think that there should be some kind of deterrent in the form of a tax or increased insurance premiums for highly modified vehicles. Also, some kind of income verification such that money spent on mods is money that otherwise should not be going towards illegitimate kids, or medical insurance, or college, or a house payment. I am sick and tired of seeing illegals and wiggers spending $5k on a $2k civic when they have hungry kids and no education. THAT’s a crime and should be banned.

Anyways, If the lawmakers want to “help” then provide the proper funding and resources to go after the street racers. The NOS doesn’t drive the car, the person injecting the vehicle is fully responsible for the vehicle and all parts on it.
