Oh man, that actually was a great truck. Remember when even the larger trucks were still reasonably sized to have only one door on each side and not look stupid? I saw one of those old 2 door Explorers parked next to a brand new Escape, and the Escape was, like, the same size.

My parents had one of those trucks, you couldn’t kill the damn thing.

Chevymanc6- I’m in Mass. I’ve got a Camry, so it’s not an option for me, but I’ve got some friends who like to ride some. Check out “EC4DWA Northeast Region” The East Coast 4 Wheel Drive Assoc.

There’s tons of little spots like hte Marshfield Pits and Veterans Road around MA and RI, but they’re always private, being developed, etc. You just gotta get in touch with other guys, man.

I don’t know the State Forests statuses either, lots of trails closed.

Amazing how our congress works. In the rest of the world it is cash for guzzlers. To get the cash you have to trade up to an XX% better MPG vehicle. Here it sounds like it is just age.

and im curious how trading in old vehicles for fuel efficient vehicles is a “melding” of the two ideas, that doesnt sound like it presents anything special for the domestics, not that it should.

What the hell! I have that exact same truck, well except mines pewter, not red. Why would they put a truck with a legendary history that’s not even really old enough to be considered a clunker as a photo for cash for clunkers. The bill is stupid anyways. If the “clunkers” were going to used car dealers or something like that I’d support it, but is really sad that those clunkers will get destroyed. What is this world coming to?

Oh and I love my Tahoe more than the new soccer mom ones and plan to keep it until it explodes. Since its a quality GM truck I will have it for a long time. The new Tahoes can’t go offroading or off jumps like these can.. By the way, does anyone know any good places to go offroading in CT or anywhere near CT?

JakeK66, exactly. I had one of those two-door Z71 Tahoes. Over the three years that I owned it, the truck didn’t give me a single problem and capably went everywhere I took it off-road.

I miss that Silverado based 2-door Blazer. That was an awesome SUV.

Hopefully it doesn’t include specific automakers to buy from, or where the vehicle is built, otherwise I feel that it’s gonna be a lawsuit. The governement can’t play favorites to what people spend their money on.
