Probably a mistake having the Camaro built in Canada. That’s about the only product GM really needs the CAW to build. Otherwise GM could go tell the CAW to go pound salt.

I just don’t understand why the unions (American and Canadian) seem to have no understanding of the auto market, or at least they don’t seem to care! They seem to completely ignore market trends and the financial woes of the companies they work for.

They just want to make cars, get paid, get great benefits & retirement packages. They don’t seem to care that nobody’s buying the cars / trucks they make, nor do they they care when the automakers are facing bankruptcy!

I live in Ontario and I feel REALLY BAD That all of these Canadians are going to lose their jobs. There will be serious repercussions for the entire economy in Ontario and Canada because of this. But not enough people are buying these trucks anymore, and GM just isn’t selling enough of anything to have another product added there. That’s just how it is! They’ll have to deal with it!

Jazz I hear what your saying but a lot has happened in the last 60 days in the truck \ suv market. (hear that big sucking sound?) I think it was a good idea for Hargrove to meet with wagner but once they couldn’t work something out then it should be done with. A strike…they don’t want trucks anyways jackass, take like a man and don’t be a bitch.

Yeah, and the CAW/UAW wonder why they are losing plants. Their answer to everything is strike or sue. Hargrove, take it like a man. You really should have said “OK you need to close this plant, is there anything we can do to avoid other plant closures?” That would have been the more appropriate response.
