2009 Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan

The Cobalt Sedan is Chevrolet's entrant into the compact sedan segment. The Cobalt Sedan was given its first update in 2007.

Like the Cobalt Coupe, the sedan comes standard with XM satellite radio and head-curtain side-impact air bags.

For 2007, the Cobalt is available in four trim levels: LS, 1LT, 2LT and Sport. Of note, the SS supercharged model was suspended for the 2008 model year, but will return sometime later in 2008 -- as a turbocharged model -- with the same 260 horsepower engine found in the Pontiac Solstice GXP and Saturn Sky Red Line.

LS, 1LT and 2LT models come equipped with a 2.2L four-cylinder engine -- rated at 148 horsepower -- and return 24/33 mpg city/highway when equipped with a manual transmission.

The Sport model upgrades the Cobalt's standard engine to a 2.4L four-cylinder. Despite the boost in power -- up to 171 horsepower -- the Sport model still returns a very respectable 22/32 mpg city/highway with a manual transmission. The sport model also adds 17 inch wheels.
