First introduced in 2004 as the replacement for the S10, the Colorado represents Chevrolet's entrant into the mid-size pickup truck segment.
The Colorado was co-developed with Isuzu and is produced in Rayong, Thailand and Shreveport, Louisiana.
For 2007, Chevrolet updated the Colorado's engine offerings -- both of which carry over to the 2008 model.
Base model trucks come standard with a 2.9L Vortec four-cylinder, featuring Variable Valve Timing (VVT). Output is rated at 185 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque.
Up-level Colorado models come with a 3.7L five-cylinder -- that also features VVT -- and is rated at 242 horsepower and 242 lb-ft of torque.
Four-cylinder models come with a five-speed manual transmission -- which can be upgraded to a four-speed auto -- while five-cylinder trucks come with a four-speed automatic.
Body styles range from regular cab to crew cab, with five different trim levels available in two or four-wheel drive.
