-While that is true, it happened in the early 20th century before any company had market dominance. The Corvette was founded in the mid 1950’s way after the merger of those brands. The Corvette is GM, if GM is to survive, they need that car. You have to not want GM to survive to want it to spin off. GM deserves that car since they developed it, not in someone’s undeserving control. You spin ff bad unprofitable companies to help them survive. Not your profitable pride and joy! That’s bad business!

As far as the design. I think the back came together very nice. I like the “angry eyes” on the tail lights. The entire rear also looks more thought out than the current Vette. Everything looks like it’s supposed to go where it is. The front is a different story. Too much mouth for me. I like the idea of having the headlamps on the fenders, but the vents are a bit much and look better on the rear. Also, I like the little ricer vent on the front of the side skirts. Looks like they’re meant to be there. Maybe think of a way to integrate some fog lamps into the front end and that could help push it farther. Unless of course they only commission you to do a front and rear shot and you could care less about what it looks like.

This one looks completely wrong, even as an illustration. the design needs to be re-evaluated and improved considerably if it will look anything like this. At this point, I would just agree to let GM go bankrupt then start fresh and new. GM is like a 90-year old man on a life support machine, sooner or later, he will die.

You are right, the Corvette lost it’s soul in 1984 with the “Datsun/Nissan” body and has never recovered.

Besides, GM would never have a production car this radical. Corvette would have to be owned by a different owner for something like this to come out.

All the Corvette enthusiasts should band together and by Corvette from GM.

I just hope this isn’t what the C7 will end up looking like…I’d rather see an evolutionary design than a REVOLUTIONARY design. I don’t want to see a mid-engined ‘Vette, either!

Agreed. The one thing that really kills this for me are those side scoops They look wrong on the Aston Martin One-77 (or whatever), they look worse here.

The CORVETTE’s styling has always been Evolutionary rather than Revolutionary. While the rear looks fine, though I’m not approving those tail lights, as does what I can make of the profile, those scoops have got to go or be sorely diminished.
