Chevrolet's latest premium subcompact, the 2014 Sonic Dust, has been unveiled at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Painted in a model-specific color called Ashen Grey, the Sonic Dusk stands out from regular Sonic models thanks to a discreet trunk-mounted spoiler, a body kit all around an 18-inch aluminum wheels finished in Pearl Nickel.  The door handle inserts and the trim that surrounds both front grilles feature a matte finish while brushed aluminum window moldings add a finishing touch to the car's appearance.

The Sonic Dusk's seats are upholstered in an elegant combination of black and tan leather, a motif that is continued on the dash and on the door panels.  Chevrolet's MyLink infotainment system comes standard.

Most of the modifications carried out to the Sonic Dusk inside and out are directly inspired by a concept that Chevrolet displayed at last year's SEMA show.

“The reaction to the Sonic Dusk concept last year was overwhelmingly positive and proved customers are interested in a more-refined subcompact. We’re moving quickly to bring Sonic Dusk to Chevrolet showrooms," said the automaker in a statement.

Under the Sonic Dusk's hood is a turbocharged 1.4-liter Ecotec four-banger that makes 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft. of torque.  Buyers can choose between a six-speed automatic and a six-speed manual gearbox.

After greeting the show-going public in Las Vegas, the Sonic Dusk will go on sale later in 2012.  Pricing information will be released closer to its launch.
