General Motors is planning to add a new crossover to the Chevrolet lineup in 2008 after a $700 million renovation at the Spring Hill plant, reports Automotive News. The plant is currently used for a number of Saturn vehicles, including the Saturn Ion and Vue. Production of the Vue will move to Mexico, while the Ion will be discontinued.
The new Chevy crossover will be built on the Lambda architecture, which is used for the GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook, and Buick Enclave. The new Chevrolet is expected to arrive in late 2008.
