Chevy Tahoe to star at MTV Awards (E85, Chip Foose editions)

08/24/2006, 5:27 PM

By admin

Chevrolet will provide a customized fleet of 60 E85 SUVs to transport celebrities to the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City on August 31st. The truck is the official vehicle of the awards show, according to GM. In addition to the Fleet of Chevy Flex Fuel vehicles, a one-of-a-kind “pimped out” 2007 Chevy Tahoe show car will make its red carpet debut at the VMAs. The vehicle, which was designed by award-winning automotive designer Chip Foose and Unique Performance Concepts, will transport a mystery celebrity to the awards show. Gallery after the jump…

What a stupid looking vehicle. SHoulda painted it yellow and had a retractable Stop sign on the drivers side door. At least it’ll function like a school bus rather than just imitate one.

Haha, interesting marketing stratedy, yet I’ve never heard of an “official car of the MTV Movie Awards” haha. The cars look great for their purpose since the MTV Awards are targeted towards that kinda population anyway…

I second the Range Rover comment, the new Range Rover Sport is one slick looking machine, especially in black, as as a bonus – it even goes offroad! Fancy that, an SUV actually going offroad!

And yet Foose pimped it out like its a damn racecar. ..

Stick to classic musclecars Chip, Challengers, Cudas, Mustangs. Leave the “Short bus” segment alone please.

Strangely enough this Tahoe doesn’t look ghetto, thats because a white man who has no connections at all to the hiphop world designed it. The more proper famous white people the better.

If you want a good laugh come read my webpage. It’s so xenophobic ,lacking in basic economic principals, and poorly written you would think that I’m just joking. The funny part is that I AM ABSOLUTELY SERIOUS! Here are a few choice quotes to get the laughs started!

“You will never, ever see a picture of a foreign car or truck, and will only
hear foreign vehicles referred to negatively.”

“This website is dedicated to the building up of American cars and trucks and calling
the foreign competition what it is…inferior and not worthy of American dollars”

“Last month at the auto show in Detroit, I sat in a Honda, a Toyota, and a
Nissan…. the doors felt thin and cheap. I wondered how anyone would get out of them alive if involved in an accident.”

“Some cars and trucks offered by American companies contain only 50% American parts or less, while foreign vehicles built here contain 75% parts made here or more. I submit that foreign vehicles made on American soil are illegitimate cars and trucks and are not truly American.”

” The recklessness of Consumer Reports puts the jobs of millions of Americans at risk, which is blatantly anti-American. ”

Come on over boys, still plenty of laughs to be had!

Am I the only one who thinks Foose is overrated? He’s a one trick pony, he only does American muscle and some modern American cars. Kinda of boring, but he does some nice work – just think there’s shops out there who deserve the same, if not more credit then Foose, because they are more diverse.

Foose has ruined a lot of good rides with his paint and wheel scheme’s…..it’s all West Coast stuff, so yesterday and boring ! Too bad he ruined a perfectly good Tahoe and didn’t work on a Sequoia or Land Rover for MTV !

Foose rocks.
If I went outside my office right now and stood by the street for 5 minutes I would see at least 30 pos ‘tuned ricers’ roll by. How often do you see something like this? almost never.
What Foose does is real art and he also knows how to kick up the performance of these rigs too.

By the way, MTV is lame, but the rig is hot.

I don’t ever see a comment from a leftist greenie weenie on here that isn’t filled with just pure hate. Simply can’t build a sentence without some sort of connotative insult.

All i can say is, complain all you want. Just get ready for another Republican white house and congress.
