One crash test does not and should not be used to judge an entire countries auto industry. This crash test only proves that the vehicle tested is not safe in certain types of crashes, that’s it. Due to it’s lack of standards, the Chinese government has made it possible for cars like this to be produced, but this doesn’t mean that all cars built China are this weak and unsafe. To this day there are still questionable American cars being produced – check out the Ford Fusion tests at http://www.highwaysafety.org for an example, it clearly isn’t as bad as the truck in the video but why should any Ford product rate less than “Good” in any crash test? This is Ford, the same company that builds the Ford 500, a car that got some of the best crash test scores in the industry. My point is this, no one would judge Ford’s safety by just one car, and we shouldn’t do that to any other country or company. One last thing, so long as the US government and the insurance industry do crash tests we will the information we need to make good auto purchasing decisions. This shouldn’t be about hate and racism, it’s about automotive information – they won’t sell it here and nobody buys it.

Comparing the Chinese auto industry to the beginning of the Japanese auto industry is nothing short of an insult to the Japanese. Even then the Japs had far more respectible products. Also, the main reason their cars were looked down upon was because of racism not quality. (I’d feel safer in a Japanese car from the 50’s then a Chinese car from 2006) Right now the Chinese auto industry is such **** that it’s impossible to imagine them making a repectible product within half a century. The just don’t know how to build cars. Even if they make something decent in, let’s say, 70 years. They can never look back at their history with pride like Mercedes-Benz can to it’s 120+ years or Ford with it’s 100+ years because they were the ones making ****ty copies of respectible cars with fake reflector “dual exhuasts” and horrible panel gaps and build quality that could be passed by a Powerwheels Jeep. Chinese cars are **** and they wont go beyond that if you ask me. Plus they’re likely to get sued off their asses before they even try.

Hopefully the Chinese crash test dummies have better driving skills than the actual Chinese-born drivers who wreak havoc on the roads here in the Cupertino/Sunnyvale/San Jose area.

keep on hating, people said the exact same **** about japanese cars back in the 80’s, korean cars in the 90’s. so where is the largest/most profitable automaker in the world from?JAPAN. even koreans are making nice and again “profitable” cars now, unlike your all american GM and FORD, just cranking out craps(okay, maybe not corvettes)

I think I would use “RED NECK” instead of white Caucasian.

Anyways…the fact is that Chinese cars are way under the par of those G8 made in terms of safty and quality. However, once the Chinese government set up the rules, they will improve very quickly…why??…because they have commie sys…take rebuilding the city in China as an example, and you will realize how quick they built it and up to western standard as well.

This is the same thing that happens to cars from the 1990s here in the US… China is 10 years behind.

Meanwhile, steer clear of people driving old cars here in the US!
If you look up the ratings of older cars on NHTSA, they’re all horrible.

Mike S., white caucasian is not redundant; if you have filled out any applications lately, two of the choices for ethnicity are white caucasian and white hispanic. why are we talking about numbers? Is this first grade? Ohh I thought I was in an automotive news forum. Well I had better get out of first grade and figure out where Leftlanenews went, because I’ve already graduated school.

I hope they never make it to the USA because of terrible crash tests, but I’m sure they will SOMEHOW get here. The big three had better hurry up, because if the chinese had entered a year ago before any of their plans really took momentum then they would be DOOMED. They will invade with low priced (junk) cars that get good mpg, and many will fall for it and they will be the new #1 auto manufacturer.

Not correct. The number system was brought to Arab lands by Arab traders and scholars over ancient land routes. Al-Jabr was a famous scholar, a corruption of whose name became Algebar, from which we finally got Algebra. Both the number system and the concept of ‘Zero’ come from ancient India.

You should watch your own run ons as your second sentence is one.

Considering the fact that all the white caucasian world ever wanted to do since medieval times was to find a way to the east- namely India and China, two cultures which gave the world the number system, decimals, metallurgy- bronze, steel, astronomy, and an accurate planetary system that preceeded the Euro-world is flat model by 5,000 years, your comment is more than puerile. It speaks of a certain frustrated rage, that continues to build because white, caucasian corporate leaders continue to shaft the white descendant population you so artfully descibe by shipping jobs overseas just to make more money by paying afore-mentioned white descendant population less. Must you try and blame the blameless- and to what purpose? Every society learns from others and that’s the way of life.
