Chrysler launches new ad campaign

05/07/2007, 6:56 PM

By ndhapple

Chrysler, in the throes of intense competition from both foreign and domestic automakers, suffering from the turmoil of the Daimler sell off, and dealing with slumping sales and inventory problems, has decided this is the time to launch a new ad campaign reflecting the companies enhanced and refreshed line-up.

The ads proclaiming Chrysler’s new tag line of “Engineered Beautifully” showcase the brand’s strong points including the Sebring Convertible and its remote open hardtop, the 2008 Chrysler Town and Country with its second row of chairs that can swivel and its perennially popular RWD 300C. The ads talk about the new features, proclaim Chrysler’s fuel economy and engineering achievements.

The ads were posted on YouTube and you can view them below.

No more Celine Dion?

Looks a little like the style of Jerry Bruckheimer.

Chrysler is getting back on the horse, facing forward this time, its good to know. Ad campaigns aren’t too big a deal tho.

Weak tagline if you ask me.

Now all they need is some exciting products. To my eye, every new vehicle they’ve introduced since the 300/Charger/Magnum is just plain ugly. Especially the Caliber, which I think is hideous. And they need to fire their interior design team. The last nice interior I’ve seen on a Chrysler was on the Pacifica.

Maybe the folks at Magna will straighten things out, but I doubt it; the previous post said they want to keep the current management team. I don’t know how much the management team has to do with how the cars look, but if Magna does keep them, they better at least find a new styling dept.

The Volkswagen Eos is 10,000 times better than the Sebring convertible. However the Challenger is still cooler than an iceberg.

Scott Kempton,
yeah, they pretty much suck at designing interiors. Ralph Giles did great job with the 300/C and they should move him to the interior department. It would be interesting to see what he’ll come up with for the future production cars.

The commericals aren’t too bad.

With the American public already knowing Chrysler is on the slide, as a buyer I would be concerned with where Chrysler is going—and after they actually got there—before spending a penny on one.

i like the chryslers, theyre the best production cars any US-automaker has, according to what ive driven in rentals and testdrives… their style (apart from maybe the new sebring) is understated but present and quality is ok… interior design is ok with me, too, just the quality of the int. materials could be improved, but still is lightyears better then gm or fords… (except their halo-cars maybe… but even on the ford gt the interior fell apart when i drove it…)

I’m not a big DCX fan as I think their cars are a bit undercooked, but I like this ad campaign. I hope it does well for them.

Pretty nice, way better than the Dr. Z stuff, that sucked. I hope Chrysler does well with Magna. They gotta give the Germans the boot though. Red headed step children never do well and that is how the Germans have treated Chrysler. With Magna as the owner, Chrysler will be the primary focus of the company, as they should be.

“It´s the way our vehicles come together, that sets us apart…” jajaja… finally they´ve found the reason! What these guys need is a re-orientation as to understanding how the public sees Chrysler, and focus the campaign on changing that perspective.
