Chrysler allowing Gulf Coast buyers to defer payments

09/16/2008, 2:05 PM

By Andrew Ganz

Chrysler Financial announced today that it is allowing certain customers who were affected by last week’s Hurricane Ike to defer and extend their monthly payments to allow them to focus on “personal matters.” The extension and deferment applies only to drivers living in select counties in Louisiana and Texas.

Chrysler provided a phone number, (800) 556-8172, for personalized assistance for those interested in taking advantage of the program while they focus on more immediate housing and living situation matters. The offer is only applicable to a handful of Gulf Coast counties affected by the strong hurricane and it only applies to those who have financed their Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep products through Chrysler Financial.

Is that blue Charger in the illustration above an Ike victim? Looks like it’s missing a front left wheel. Watch out for this car on Carfax.

It’s a common mistake. Just think of the Avenger as a Charger that’s finished with breast feeding.
