Read it again guys, Dodge hasn’t had so many letters (e-mail now), on this Challenger since the Viper was a concept car. Dealers are already taking deposits… Chrysler is King of the retro niche and has been for some time, but it was the success of the Mustang that pushed this idea. And the last time Dodge did the Muscle Pony thing there were Camaro’s, Firebirds, Mustangs, Cougars, and Javlins already in the show room. They don’t have to outsell the Mustang and they won’t try to compete in the price range. They only have to get the muscle car “boomers” that haven’t already bought Mustangs. My 70 R/T Convertible Challenger is worth 20 times more than I paid for it. I’m trading in my H2 and buying what might be my last new car. (I’ll take mine in Hemi Orange or TorRed with the SRT 8 package please). Go CHALLENGER, welcome back MOPAR! And thank the “Dr. Z” for understanding how important the Muscle Car Wars were in American Automotive history!

This car will sell very well. There are going to be collectors left and right who are going to snap these up and throw them right in to storage because Chrysler has nailed this car on both the styling and nostalgia. THis car rocks, period.

Makes the Camaro look like a poorly executed fantasy…

this is the best-looking car i`ve ever seen, my second favourite is the lamborghinii gallardo, i`m glad they`re gonna produce it although i`m never gonna have money to buy one . finally a good prototipe goes to production. my congrats to the chrysler`s ceo who made this decision.

#31 I agree w/ you…( yraceme #24 ), bringing back the the Challenger is a little more than just Pressed sheetmetal, Plastic, and some Tires. This is about some “Good Fun” w/ the hard earn money that we are work for. I like the feeling I get when I drive my ‘99 Viper ACR now. Gas, I pay just like everyone else, oh…and if the negative people do not like the design, price, or just do not care for it , GO TO ANOTHER FORUM. It is just about me and my fun. Disagree, but at least drive the car first, I am sure you will pee in your pants from the sh*t eating grin on yer face.

People who buy cars like these do not care about fuel prices. Anyone who is concerned about $60.00 more per month than 3 years ago should not even be looking at a car like this. They can keep their beige 4 cylinder Camrys and their boring pathetic little lives.

Muscle cars, typically two-doored with massive eight-cylinder engines, bring back memories of a U.S. era of cheap gas, drive-in theaters and cruising main street.

However, the Challenger comes along when $3 per gallon gasoline has the broad market increasingly looking for less thirsty compact cars.

Move comes as Big Three look to muscle cars for edge over Japanese imports.

not SL… there are a number of vehicles going to be built on the platform of the next Viper. Look for Crossfire coupe and convertible, Viper coupe and convertible, SLR, etc. Can’t wait till the ‘09 MY

it is hard to please everyone.ppl didn’t like it when the new charger wasn’t designed like the original,now ppl complain when the challenger is too reto.geeze.chrysler has balls period….they come up with designs gm and ford never have or never will.

Mopar,I’ ll be one of the first to get one..maybe two when they become available.I’m an oldschool GM guy…grew up on em’…race em’…love em’.I have’nt purchased a new GM car since 87.And that was a Buick Regal I still have to this day.It’s all original with 17,000 miles on it.My daily driver is a 2005 Chevy Tahoe.Today’s GM knows NOTHING of what their consumers want out of a good looking-different from the rest- car.The new “Camaro”(if that’s what they want to call it) is a joke.It looks nothing like a 69.The Chevy Aveo(to name only one) is gayer than a gay dude. Ford has the right idea with their Mustang styling,it’s just underpowered.The whole idea of reintroducing a classic is to get it as close to the original,right?By the looks of that concept of yours,I’d have to say you’re dead on.You have listened to your consumers.WHEN YOU BUILD IT WE WILL BUY IT!!!!!

They both (charger & challenger)had two doors but was aim at different buyers as the challenger was smaller.
