Chrysler announced today that it is bringing back “employee pricing” for a wide range of buyers – though not quite everyone. Differing from the “Employee Pricing Plus” campaign the automaker offered in late 2005, the new program is good for military personnel, supplier and affiliate employees and returning lessees. The “employee price” is printed on the factory invoice and is subject to a $200 program fee.
Though not nearly as extensive or likely to be as widely advertised as General Motors’ current “employee pricing” plan, the program runs through September 30 and, according to a Chrysler release, is good for nearly all 2008 and 2009 models in dealer inventories. For those who don’t qualify, Chrysler will continue its “Shop ‘Til You Drive” campaign that offers up to 40 percent off of MSRP on certain slow-selling models and zero percent financing for up to 72 months on many pickups and SUVs.

So if there’s truth in advertising, the program will be called, “Employee Pricing Plus Our Little $200 Fee Because You Really Aren’t An Employee Nor Would You Want to Be.”

The $200 actually goes towards removing the 1/2 inch thick coat of dust on your purchase before delivery.
