Chrysler Imperial to arrive as 2011 model?

03/01/2006, 8:26 AM

By admin

Chrysler’s Dodge Challenger Concept was a smash hit at the Detroit auto show in January. But the reaction to the company’s other show car, the Chrysler Imperial Concept, was considerably more mixed. Despite some criticisms, however, Chrysler is likely to build the Imperial, according to Edmunds. The report suggests the car will either use the Mercedes R-Class platform or the LX/LY underpinnings used for the 300C and its siblings. The report also indicates it will arrive in 2010 and a 2011 model. The Leftlane Perspective: We remain highly skeptical of this report — especially of the proposed timeframe. Edmunds recently claimed the next Camaro would not see production until 2010, but virtually ever other news source has shot down this assertion, saying production is slated for 2009, or maybe even 2008.

How can it take 5 years to build this thing?? Maybe that is a clue here DCX. You need to be on the ball to make it in the game.

They better use the R platform since the LX/LY is getting old.

It took some of the best parts from the C300 and some of the best parts from the RR Phantom and mixed them together…

And it looks absolutely awefull :P , Cryslers and RRes dont mix apparently hehe.

DCX is pretty on the ball. Don’t think that this is going to go into production just as it looks here — the interior is a big clue there.

For those who think it looks like a RR ripoff, check out what Imperials looked like in the 50’s and 60’s before making asinine statements.

the LY platform isnt old, seeing as curently doesnt exist in a production model, wont till like 2008, and the r-class chassis dont really make sense for a sedan…
they better redesign it, because the concept looked WAY too much like a rolls-royce phantom… except the phantom looks good…

2011? Sorry idiots, the 300C fad will be long over by then.

You’ve got to ride these things while they’re hot if you expect to profit.

If this goes into prod. it will very likely look much different. Especially if it will be 2011.
