Chrysler has launched a new microsite for the 2007 Dodge Caliber SRT-4. The car offers 260 lb. ft. of torque and 300 horsepower from a 2.4-litre turbocharged engine. It can reach 60 mph in less than 6 seconds. Pricing has yet to be announced. Currently, the base model Caliber is $14,000 and the most expensive model is $20,000.

wow…that has to be one of the most aesthetically unpleasing cars i’ve seen this year.

Its looks like a Magnum tried to mate with an evo, but instead got too drunk and shagged its own sister. This is the inbred child.

4-door wagon sports-type-crossover cars have ZERO appeal to people in my age group (18-25, i’m 20). I dont understand why they keep throwing these “factory tuners at us. If I want something quick, i’ll save a little longer and just get a WRX or a stripped down Lan Evo RS.

I got a 04 SRT-4 too and I don’t think this new SRT-4t looks good, but at $20~21k. This will probably be the fastest at that price range.

to the guy above

“4-door wagon sports-type-crossover cars have ZERO appeal to people in my age group”, umm, did you know EVO had a wagon? RS4 had a wagon? You just hat it cause it is a “Doge”, an America brand. Your age gropu only know Honda, cause CIVIC 7o7ally ROXZOOOR!!!!!! and OWNZZZZZ! LMAO.

” I dont understand why they keep throwing these “factory tunersâ€? at us”…umm, BMW M is not factory tuner? STI is not a factory tuner? EVO is not a factory tuner?

“…i’ll save a little longer and just get a WRX or a stripped down Lan Evo RS…..”…umm… you will need $10k+ more, not exactly “a little” FYI.

None of your points make sense to a point that its not even funny…….

IF YOR HATE AMERICAN BRAND, JUST SAY IT.

No, I dont hate american cars. My last car was a 73 Camaro coupe, which is now parked because I’m not working. I drive a 67 Beetle around town everyday, and my girlfriend just leased an evo. I’m not baised…I have my opinions like anyone else, and I dont like this **** Dodge is throwing out.

and to clear something up, I should have said “performance model” or something along those lines. In retrospect, my words were poorly chosen.

Just because a wave of sticker-loving, coffee can exhaust sporting douchebags sprung up for a decade doesnt mean I dont know what serious car enthusiasts my age like.

Rocket Punch, your a moron.

I have no idea what you just wrote, it makes no sense at all. You type like your in 3rd grade, and you act like your 13.

First of all Mitsubishi(which isn’t doing very well financially at the moment) DID have a wagon Evolution recently, in Japan. Foreign car market is very different. Hatchbacks and wagons are extremely popular overseas unlike the U.S. Sixty to Seventy-five percent of cars in Europe/Asia are wagons & hatchbacks.
Audi’s RS4 Avant was a beautiful car, very sporty looking, fast, and extremely agile. The caliber is NOT a wagon, NOT awd, NOT luxurious, NOT, NOT NOT etc., It’s in a completely different league from the RS4. Besides, that would be like comparing a Miata with a Viper just because they’re both Roadsters.
“Factory tuner” & “Sports car” are two different types of cars. I don’t know where you are getting at with comment on Bmw’s M models. Just makes you sound like your IQ dropped about 30pts by the end of your sentence.

FYI, a Mitsubishi Evolution RS retails for $29,149. It is said that the Caliber will sell for around the same(if not more) MSRP as the last Srt-4, $21,295. That’s a difference of $7,854, not $10,000. Shouldn’t exagerate just to put down others and make yourself seem like you know what your talking about

“…None of your points make sense to a point that its not even funny…….”
In the end, it looks like your the one you doesn’t make sense. Get your facts straight before you go on the internet and flame someone who was merely trying to give his opinion about something.

This is my take on the Caliber Srt-4.
It is clearly aimed at the “younger” tuner croud like those that grew to love the last Srt-4 like myself. Looks-wise, as I said before, is similar to a Pontiac Vibe or a Toyota Matrix. I, myself, don’t see many of those “younger” crowds that I just mentioned driving neither of those two. Mostly older 35-50 age range mainly because of the extra room and versatility.
Toyota themselves tried the same thing with the Matrix XRS a couple years ago, and what happened? Most of them were purchase by the same 35-50 year old crowd. Young people just aren’t into that type of styling I guess.
In my opinion, I think sales on the new Caliber Srt-4 will not even come close to the Neon version SRT. SE, SXT, & R/T models should do well though.

C’mon, you have cars like Subaru’s STi, Mitsubishi’s Evo, VW’s golf GTi/R32, Honda’s Civic Si, Nissan’s 350z, Saturn’s Sky, Nissan SE-R V-spec, etc. All cars roughly under $30,000. With all of those players in mind, do you think the Caliber Srt-4 will have much apeal?

Anyway, it’s just MY OPINION and everyone is entitled to one, including Greg.
Cya around.

I’m about to put a deposit on a 2007 WRX STi Limited Edition.

I am a newly divorced father of 2 (2 and 8). Do you think that a 2006 Legacy 2.5 GT Spec B is a better choice than the STi for a “family” car?
