Chrysler’s 300C Touring has officially joined its Dodge Magnum platform mate in the automotive graveyard. Chrysler says it has no plans to produce a wagon version of its latest 300C model.

The Dodge Magnum had a short-lived production run in the United States – lasting from just 2005 to 2008 – but the Chrysler-faced version of the low-slung wagon was met with much more success in the European market. Although never a volume seller, the 300C Touring enjoyed decent sales, ensuring its survival until the 2010 model year.

However, Chrysler-Lancia CEO Saad Chehab says the company has no plans to revive the wagon in the European market despite its relative success. Chehab says that “sales in the U.S. for estates are too slow to justify the development costs.â€

While Chehab is probably right, we can’t help but feel a little saddened that the world won’t get to see the coupe-like wagon paired with the much improved interior of the latest 300. Still, European buyers won’t be left completely in the dark as the heavily updated 2012 300C will be arriving in European showrooms this summer.
