well, the sebring and the aspen turned out (so far) like every other DC product, love it or hate it. so, gentleman, lets just leave it at that. nobody needs to fight about anything. arguing on the internet is like running the special olympics, win or lose, your still retarded, so just give it a rest. please.

You might has well have called yourself an architect Schwanz because every comment you have made on this board made you seem pretty darn arrogant to me. Especially the last comment “and Chrysler has the worst looking designs on the market at the moment” Compared to what? Would you care to elaborate on that comment? I’m just curious to know more about what you think since you are obviously more qualified to comment on the design of products than the rest of us here.

Well I’m not going to give you the name and address of my successful architect’s practice am I 1c3d0g? When you have spent 5 years in University studying to be an architect I will respect what you have to say about design. I said “building designer” instead of architect because I didn’t want to seem arrogant. I was at Art Center Pasadena with all the famous car designers, yes I still keep in touch with some of them. Yes! I feel qualified to comment on the design of products rather than just have an opinion about whether I like them or not.

Where are they naysayers of badge engineering that consistently criticize Ford on this board? The Aspen is, as mentioned above, a tarted up Durango which has odd proportions from the get go. This is not a competition to the Escalade/Yukon from a size perspective, cachet perspective, and brand value perspective. I see this simply as the Chrysler dealers clamoring for some type of non-car to sell that doesn’t have the “trail rated” manliness of their Jeep line (which is growing increasingly ugly, see Commander/Liberty/Compass).

A $30k price point would be good competition to the GM big SUV’s and that’s what Ford is trying with their Expedition, but I just don’t see the Aspen doing well in the marketplace.

On the other side, the Sebring looks like a rebadged Saturn ION and I can only hope for DCX’s sake that the two door convertible comes out well b/c that was it’s value from their old body style, a non-sporty good price point cabriolet… without that, this quickly goes into the “i drive a dodge stratus” category.

Sebring- I dont know what you’re all thinking, but its hideous, look at it, its a MESS of different design elements, Crossfire influence is ill proportionedand hideous in the front, the rear is just awkward, overall a truly ugly car. It will NOT sell compared to the simply great cars in the midsize sedan segement: the accord, camry, legacy, altima, mazda 6 , and the passat. this car will be forgotten.

Aspen- what was chrysler thinking? clone the durango, add some chrome and a gross front fascia, dabble the interior with fake wood and make it a mini bargain escalade? HAH. sorry, but this gas guzzling garbage heap should be thrown out with the sebring, the last thing we need is another big truck based suv on the market.

why do people think the aspen is a full size? its a mid size, right? it cant be a full size. cuz the durango competes with the trail blazer and the explorer (which are mid sizes) not the tahoes and expiditions (which are full sizes. why dosnt dodge or chrysler have a full size SUV to compete with the tahoes and expiditions?

I read somewhere that Chrysler wanted to break off a slice of the Escalade’s pie……that’s why they took the Durango design and tarted it up to Yukon Denali/Escalade levels…..

As for the Sebring, at least it doesn’t look like every other lemon shaped bar of soap on the road……..

If you said Honda, Renault, Ford, or any other AUTO manufacturer on the planet you might hold some weight. As is, I think building a lobby and a cubicle is a little different than building a car.

Sebring concept was wonderful – what happened?

Aspen – hopefully this pig is a holdover until the real one turns up. I’m OK with badge engineering, but a duplicate of the homely Durango with an ugly uninspired grill? No thanks.

Chrysler’s streak has taken a (hopefully) brief hiatus.

Like I said in a previous post, I wish the Aspen would get the 3.0 L V-6 Diesel that’ll also be available in the 2007 Grand Cherokee. I really love the design of the Aspen, it’s smooth and well-proportioned.
