The PT Cruiser draws its style from vehicles of yesteryear with teardrop headlights, unique front fenders that flare out from the engine compartment, and a smooth flowing back hatch.

It represents an alternative for those seeking not only space and utility but also a unique styling statement.

The front-drive PT Cruiser seats five and comes in four trim lines: LX, Touring, Street Cruiser and Limited.

All but the Limited get a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 150 horsepower. Hooked up to the standard five-speed manual transmission, the PT gets an estimated 21 miles per gallon in the city, 26 on the highway. With the optional four-speed automatic, mileage drops a bit to 19 and 24 mpg, respectively.

For more get-up-and-go, optional on the Touring and standard on the Limited is a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower. No manual is offered, only a four-speed automatic. Mileage estimates are 18 mpg in the city, 24 on the highway.

Features of the base LX include 15-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, a CD radio and trip computer.

The Touring model adds 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, a power six-way driver seat, power windows, security system, cruise control, satellite radio and stain-resistant seat fabric.

The Street Cruiser is a value addition with numerous added features at a discounted price. They include alloy wheels, deep-tinted glass, front and rear floor mats, chrome bits and Street Cruiser badging.

The Limited is the luxury model with chrome accents inside and out, heated front seats, chrome exhaust tip, leather seats and steering wheel, power sunroof and more.
