Chrysler never set the mid-size sedan on fire with its two offerings, the Dodge Avenger and Chrysler Sebring, mostly due to their questionable styling and quality and a plethora of mechanical issues. Chrysler may have gathered a group of engineers to solve the former problems, but the latter clearly still needs some attention.
That’s because Chrysler has announced a recall of 181,000 2007-2008 Chrysler Sebrings and Dodge Avenger s. According to Automotive News, the recall is due to an electrical defect that can prevent the cars from running.

If an unused electrical connector in the tire pressure monitoring system corrodes and shorts out, it can cause the engine to stall or not start, batteries to go dead and cause other electrical components to fail — such as cruise control.

No accidents or injuries have been linked to the defect.

The latest recall is just one more obstacle for the Dodge Avenger and Chrysler Sebring to overcome as just last month, the head of their redesign team resigned from Chrysler.
