Misrepresentation! The picture shows the hyper-SUV Grand Cherokee SRT-8 which uses Brembo sourced calipers. Just the bread and butter basic models were listed in the recall.

Wait until Chrysler gets the scourge that was Daimler (see Allpar for further info) out of their system and they’re really hit their stride. They’ve got a ton of new models on the 2 year horizon that should bring them back off the ropes.

Wranglers rock. The Japanese would cut the dicks off of U.S. soldiers and stuff them in there mouths while they bled to death. Now we let them over run our own country. Someday we may all work for Japanese companies.
The UAW sucks but anyone whom lives in an area with a Japanese owned manufacturing facility see’s the high turnover rate at these plants. The Honda plant in Marysville, Ohio does not have a weekend go by without a large add from a temporary service looking for workers for 12.00 an hour in the local newspapers. This is the only way they hire. This could be all of us one day or at least our kids or grandkids.
But many in America are too busy bashing there own country to even see it coming.

The idiots always come out for the domestic comments… Didn’t Honda just recall a crapload of Civics? But nooo that’s not Honda’s fault the reliability gods messed up but it’s not Hondas fault. Blame Bendix or whatever company was sub’d out to make the calipers not Jeep.

True Commodore, I was about ready to mention the same thing. I dunno you in person tripleonefive, you’ve seemed like a reasonable person on LLN before, but seriously get over things from 5 years ago. I’m confident that Toyota has achieved a similar number, of atleast a million vehicles over a shorter distance of time.

But another point I’d like to make; you should all be proud of Chrysler making these recalls. This shows the irresponsibility of Daimler Benz when THEY put these vehicles into production. Many of these components were co-engineered with Daimler Benz engineers, but most of all the fact that they weren’t recalled when Daimler Benz was in complete charge, just a little more than a month ago.

Yes, it’s a stupid, half minded mistake. But it shows me that Cerberus has the commanding authority to say “fix the problem”, the guts to carry it out, and not hide it. I don’t plan on buying any Chrysler vehicles, partly because their designers still don’t have the interiors or engines correct, despite having some nice designs, but I have confidence in Cerberus, as long as they have some finances to work with they WILL turn Chrysler around.

1115 I am putting in all the facts relevant to what I am talking about. GM’s recalls from 5 years ago have nothing to do with anything here….WELCOME TO 2007. In my comment I was referring to the CURRENT recall rankings. No point in me mentioning old recalls now is there? That would make me…well, I don’t know….BIASED? Don’t you get tired of saying the same thing over and over again?

Chrysler is still in the midst of re-organizing their entire company from top to bottom, so it doesn’t surprise me issues like these are coming to light. I’m sure Cerberus will chop off several people’s heads over this (most likely whoever’s in charge of QC/QA).

Jesus Christ they are almost at the same level as Toyota now, and higher than Honda. Chrysler MUST improve their cars in the future if it wants me to consider buying them. Not only do I doubt their quality, but their interiors are horrid to be honest. I hope they come out of it though, it would not be good for our economy if Chrysler fails
