Chrysler has announced the recall of 72,333 2007-2008 Dodge Avenger Sedans and Chrysler Sebring Convertibles. The recall is due to front door latch cables that can become stuck in the unlatched position — possibly causing the doors to open unexpectedly — or cause the lock function to fail.
In addition, 1,158 2008 Dodge Avenger all-wheel drive models are being recalled to fix fuel tank straps that were improperly manufactured, potentially causing fuel leaks.

With Chrysler trying to turn around its North American operations, the latest recalls only adds to the obstacles the automaker must overcome.
