I have worked for 16 years for a MAJOR parts supplier for Chrysler. In the last year Chrysler has stopped picking up the tab on warranty repairs. When a part goes bad and is deemed covered by the warranty, the supplier that made the part is made to replace the part and cover all the cost of the work. Then you have to remember that most of the components are cheap parts from such wonderful places as India, Korea and China! The Real reason for this drop. When the U-joint went at 10,000 km on my last Jeep TJ, they said it was due to my aggressive driving habits and was self-inflicted. Meanwhile I never took it off road. They made me pay for it. They also made me pay for the hourly rate on the manifold that came loose and started rattling. They said I must have hit the undercarriage somewhere off-roading again. Everything I said fell on deaf ears. Being too busy at work to fuck around and argue, I paid and walked away. Never went back to that dealer.
