Chrysler sees future for diesel in the U.S.

Chrysler is looking to build on the success of its new diesel Jeep Liberty (pictured right) by bringing at least one more diesel vehicle to the United States, chairman and chief executive officer Tom LaSorda said in a recent interview. “If I were to look into the future, the likelihood is more than 50/50 that we will add another dieselâ€? vehicle, LaSorda said. “It’s been quite a success,â€? LaSorda said. “We’ve already sold 6,000, and we’ve doubled production to 10,000 this year.â€? Chrysler sells diesel versions of its 300, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler, Voyager minivan and PT Cruiser in Europe.
