Chrysler decided not to bring any 2006 model year Crossfire roadsters or coupes to the United States due to extremely weak sales of the German-built car, according to Automotive News. Dealers reportedly have plenty of 2005 models left, and there was no need to bring over the 2006 Crossfire. Chrysler’s COO did say a 2007 model would come to the U.S., but no details on possible changes were given. The Crossfire is based on the previous-generation Mercedes SLK-Class platform, and has sold poorly due to its high price. In March, AutoExpress reported that production of the car was near being halted. Recently, Reuters reported that Chrysler would pay the company that makes the Crossfire to reduce the contracted output volume. The Leftlane Perspective: Find a way to build a news Crossfire priced against the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky. Forget the expensive Mercedes parts — the Sky and Solstice do fine without them.

Eh-eh… it’s a little soooon! The earliest examples probably don’t have 2,000mi on them yet.
GM is prone to building in some bug that will taint them as cars: suitable only as birthday presents for 16yr olds. Hell, the first Boxsters had flaws and Corvettes were fast-crap for most of their model life. Take a look at the top fit for starters.

….and the Crossfire is over. They’ll be like those wierd hotrod things from Chrysler that were having birthdays at the new car lot.
Very few want a car that looks like some Pebble Beach/Amelia Island, one-off from the 30’s. Anyone who remembers cars from the 30’s had had their license taken when they entered the Home.

Hey Chrysler, why don’t you go ahead and skip 2007 and 2008 too. Wow, all the cost of a Mercedes but without the cache and snob-appeal in a technologically dated package. What could go wrong?

Coupes tend to sell well in the first year offered, as this is a “must have the newest thing” segment of the market, more so than others. Subsequent years tend to see a drop-off in sales…but not as dramatic as Crossfire sales, which have plummeted and never were very strong to begin with.

From what I read… it’s not really all that great of a car to put as high a price tag as they have on it… Plain and simple.
Lower the price and you may find some potential buyers. Not me though. It’s too ugly

All the painted plastic silver in the dash makes it look like a cheap Korean car from the 90’s.

Just lose the high price tag and the tacky spoiler at the rear of the SRT6. People will come.
