Sure they moved the cars by putting on rebate and incentive and basically taking a loss on each vehicle. How long do you think Chrysler can survive that way? Last year, didn't Chrysler basically shove the cars down the dealers' throats and these dealers weren't happy with the corporate? Also, the already shitty resale doesn't get help by a surplus in the used car market. In the long run, shutting down the factory line may actually be beneficial. There IS the factory capacity to keep in mind. Sometimes it costs just as much to not build cars. And some machinery actually costs them money to shut OFF/DOWN. Or more money to start UP.
