Chrysler to expand four-cylinder offerings

06/19/2006, 8:06 AM

By admin

Chrysler will offer more small-engine versions of its cars and trucks as its U.S. sales decline amid rising fuel prices, the Detroit News reported this weekend. The company plans to launch two new models with standard four-cylinder engines by the end of the year, CEO Tom LaSorda said. Chrysler currently has four such vehicles. The automaker may also add four-cylinder versions of models that are currently only offered with bigger powerplants.

Well done a domestic company which knows what is customers needs. Now all you have to do is build the Dodge Hornet and even the Chrysler Akino but label that as a smart.

I’m trying to figure out which 2 existing products they plan on putting a 4cyl in. I’m guessing the Dakota is one, but without a reg cab it seems pointless. The other one I’m guessing is the Jeep Liberty since they did away the Diesel option for 07.
